Regular Season Round 22: CAI Zaragoza - Valencia 72-76

Date: February 27, 2011
Very predictable result when fourth ranked Power Electronics Valencia (14-8) beat on the road 13th ranked CAI Zaragoza (9-13) 76-72. It looked good early as CAI Zaragoza took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Power Electronics Valencia had a 24-18 second period charge getting the lead and CAI Zaragoza was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-76. Lithuanian center Robertas Javtokas (211-80, college: Arizona, agency: Interperformances) notched 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American-Montenegrin guard Omar-Sharif Cook (186-82, college: St.John's, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 8 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by American power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) did not help to save the game for CAI Zaragoza. Power forward Pablo Aguilar (203-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Power Electronics Valencia moved-up to third place, which they share with Valladolid. Newly promoted CAI Zaragoza keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost.
