An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Siena. First ranked Montepaschi Siena faced one of their biggest challengers Bennet Cantu. Host Montepaschi Siena (18-2) defeated guests from Cantu (14-6) 73-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Bennet Cantu. The game without a history. Montepaschi Siena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Montepaschi Siena forced 22 Bennet Cantu turnovers. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Milovan Rakovic (208-85) who scored 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Lithuanian center Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-79) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Four Montepaschi Siena players scored in double figures. Montepaschi Siena's coach Simone Pianigiani used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) produced 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (203-85, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-2 record. Bennet Cantu at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. Montepaschi Siena are looking forward to face Angelico Biella (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bennet Cantu will play against Air Avellino (#5) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
