There was no surprise when 10th ranked Dinamo Sassari (9-11) was defeated on the road by third ranked Armani Milano (15-5) 88-72. The game without a history. Armani Milano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Armani Milano outrebounded Dinamo Sassari 37-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American guard David Hawkins (194-82, college: Temple) who scored that evening 27 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Mason Rocca (204-77, college: Princeton) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 4 assists by American guard Travis Diener (183-82, college: Marquette) did not help to save the game for Dinamo Sassari. His fellow American import guard James White (198-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Court Side) added 14 points for the guests. Dinamo Sassari's coach Romeo Sacchetti tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Armani Milano maintains third position with 15-5 record having just three points less than leader Montepaschi. Newly promoted Dinamo Sassari dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. Armani Milano's next round opponent will be Lottomatica Roma (#6) on the road. Dinamo Sassari will play against Scavolini Pesaro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
