The game between Top Four teams took place in Esch. 3rd placed host Basket Esch (12-7) lost to first ranked T71 (15-4) 84-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Basket Esch. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. International guard Tom Schumacher (190-87, college: Cal.Baptist) fired 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Denell Stephens (192-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: ZAG Advocates) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds. Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward John Reimold (198-81, college: Bowling Green) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for T71. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-4 record. Newly promoted Basket Esch keeps the third position with seven games lost. T71 will meet at home Residence (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Basket Esch will play against Amicale in Steinsel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
