Regular Season Round 20: Oknoplast BO - JuveCaserta 69-61
Date: February 27, 2011
Rather predictable result when fourth ranked CS Bologna (11-9) beat at home 8th ranked Pepsi Caserta (9-11) 69-61. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-13. But Pepsi Caserta won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when CS Bologna won last quarter 19-12. 25 personal fouls committed by Pepsi Caserta helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by Georgian forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-86) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American-Bulgarian center Jared Homan (206-83, college: Iowa St.) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four CS Bologna players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Jumaine Jones (202-79, college: Georgia) did not help to save the game for Pepsi Caserta. His fellow American import center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) added 10 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the guests. CS Bologna maintains fourth position with 11-9 record, which they share with Air AV. Pepsi Caserta at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. CS Bologna's next round opponent will be Fabi Shoes Montegranaro (#9) on the road where they are favorite. Pepsi Caserta will play against Enel Brindisi.
