Regular Season Round 16: BC Asker - Oslo Tigers 94-41

Bottom-ranked Oslo (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 94-41 loss to third ranked Asker/BV (10-3) in Rykkinn. The game without a history. Asker/BV led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Oslo to just 4 points in second quarter. Asker/BV dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Oslo's 22. Asker/BV forced 33 Oslo turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Oslo's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Nanna Sand (181-77, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 steals. The former international guard Anna Hammer (181-89) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Asker/BV players scored in double figures. Asker/BV's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Siv Pettersen replied with 13 points and forward Claire Brown added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Oslo. Defending champion maintains third position with 10-3 record having seven points less than leader Gimle. Newly promoted Oslo still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Asker/BV will play against league's leader Gimle in Bergen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oslo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Ullern.
