We should mention about the upset which took place in Espoo, where higher ranked Espoo Honka (22-14) lost at home to ninth ranked Namika Lahti (14-23) 82-94. Espoo Honka was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 52-39 second half run of Namika Lahti. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Ryan Ayers (201-86, college: Notre Dame) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all thirteen shots !!!). Forward Anthony Vereen (201-86, college: Texas Arlington) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Namika Lahti players scored in double figures. Center John Williamson (198-86, college: Cincinnati) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) added 24 points in the effort for Espoo Honka. Espoo Honka's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Namika Lahti maintains ninth position with 14-23 record. Espoo Honka at the other side keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Namika Lahti will play against LrNMKY (#11) in Lappeenranta in the next round. Espoo Honka will play on the road against Torpan Pojat (#8) in Helsinki and hopes to get back on the winning track.
