Not a big story in a game in Jerusalem where 9th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (4-15) was defeated by third ranked Hapoel J-M (12-7) 107-89. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel J-M. Ironi Ashkelon was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel J-M made 26-of-34 charity shots (76.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Hapoel J-M especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Ironi Ashkelon was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Sam Clancy (201-80, college: USC) accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Desmon Farmer (195-81, college: USC) came up with 26 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Dror Hagag (178-78, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Ironi Ashkelon in the defeat. Five Hapoel J-M and four Ironi Ashkelon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hapoel J-M moved-up to second place, which they share with Bnei Hasharon. Ironi Ashkelon lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. Hapoel J-M will play against league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ironi Ashkelon will play at home against Bnei Hasharon (#3) in Hod Hasharon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
