We should mention about the upset which took place in Palencia, where higher ranked Girona FC (13-13) was outleveled in a road game by fifteenth ranked Palencia Baloncesto (9-17) 85-61. The game without a history. Palencia Baloncesto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Palencia Baloncesto made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Palencia Baloncesto outrebounded Girona FC 45-25 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Adrian Moss (204-81, college: Florida) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Finnish swingman Samuel Haanpaa (203-86) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Palencia Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Even 11 points by center Josep Ortega (201-84) did not help to save the game for Girona FC. Ignacio Ordin (183-78) added 13 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Palencia Baloncesto moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with CB Tarragona. Girona FC at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Palencia Baloncesto's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Obradoiro CAB in Santoago de Comp and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
