Ninth-ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (8-13) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Plasencia Extremadura (14-8) on Wednesday. Plasencia Extremadura managed to secure only sixteen-point victory 106-90. However their fans expected much easier game. 26 personal fouls committed by Fontedoso Carrefour helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for swingman Jonathan Barcelo (192-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 6 assists. Swingman Ruben Martinez (196-85) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds. Plasencia Extremadura's coach Rafa Gomariz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard David Garcia (190-80) responded with 31 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Charles Ramsdell (208-85, college: Tulsa, agency: Court Side) scored 24 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Plasencia Extremadura have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Fontedoso Carrefour at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Plasencia Extremadura are looking forward to face ADT Tarragona (#7) on the road in the next round. Fontedoso Carrefour will play against CB Guadalajara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
