The game between Top Four teams took place in DongGuan. Second-best host DongGuan Leopards (22-6) lost to first ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (27-1) 108-102. DongGuan Leopards were ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 31-20 third quarter run of Xinjiang Flying Tige. They made 31-of-38 charity shots (81.6 percent) during the game, while DongGuan Leopards only scored fifteen points from the stripe. DongGuan Leopards were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) notched a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) supported him with 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Even 44 points (!!!) and 4 assists by Nigerian guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: Cal.St. Fullerton) did not help to save the game for DongGuan Leopards. The former international center Kai Zhang (211-82) added 17 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-1 record. DongGuan Leopards at the other side keep the second place with six games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against Zhejiang Cyclones (#5) in Hangzhou in the next round. DongGuan Leopards will play on the road against Shandong Bulls in Jinan and hope to get back on the winning track.
