Regular Season Round 39: KTP - Honka Espoo 81-73

Rather predictable result when second ranked KTP-Basket (28-11) won against 5th ranked Espoo Honka (23-15) in Kotka 81-73 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Espoo Honka won third quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. Canadian forward Sefton Barrett (196-83, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Corey Belser (200-82, college: San Diego) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import center John Williamson (198-86, college: Cincinnati) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Espoo Honka. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for KTP-Basket. They maintain second place with 28-11 record having six points less than leader Pyrinto. Loser Espoo Honka keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. KTP-Basket will face Kauhajoen Karhu (#7) in Kauhajoki in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Espoo Honka will play at home against the league's leader Tampereen Pyrinto.
