Regular Season Round 20: Tulikivi Deerlijk - Blue Cats 53-71

Very predictable result in Deerlijk where fifth ranked Blue Cats (10-10) beat bottom-ranked Tulikivi (4-15) 71-53 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Blue Cats. Tulikivi managed to win second period 21-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tulikivi to just 7 points in first quarter. International center Emma Meesseman (188-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and guard Marieke Versavel (167-92) chipped in 17 points. Blue Cats' coach Philip Mestdagh used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Evelien Maes (184-80) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and forward Ann-Sofie Boucherie (175-81) scored 16 points. Blue Cats maintains fifth place with 10-10 record. Tulikivi lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Blue Cats will meet at home R.Spirou Monceau (#6) in the next round. Tulikivi will play against the league's second-placed Declercq Stortbeton (#2) in Waregem and hope to secure a win.
