Regular Season Round 20: Stjarnan - Snaefell 94-80

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Snaefell (16-4) on the court of fifth ranked Stjarnan on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Stjarnan 94-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Snaefell. The game was mostly controlled by Stjarnan. Snaefell managed to win second period 27-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stjarnan dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Snaefell's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Estonian forward Renato Lindmets (198-84, college: Westfield St., agency: Tank Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Justin Shouse (180-81, college: Mercyhurst) who added 23 points and 13 assists during the contest. American point guard Sean Burton (175-86, college: Ithaca) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 assists and American-Italian forward Ryan Amoroso (203-85, college: San Diego St.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stjarnan maintains fifth position with 11-9 record. Defending champion Snaefell still keeps top place with four games lost. Stjarnan are looking forward to face Haukar (#8) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round. Snaefell will play at home against Hamar (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
