Regular Season Round 16: Kutaisi - MIA Academy 81-68

The most important game in the last round took place in Kutaisi between second ranked MIA (11-4) and fourth ranked Kutaisi (11-4) on Friday night. MIA was defeated by Kutaisi on the road 81-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of MIA. The game was mostly controlled by Kutaisi. MIA managed to win third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Buba Kvimsadze (195-82) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Rezo Didia (203-87) who added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Kutaisi players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Besik Lezhava (193-86) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Azerbaijan forward Davit Barbakadze (203-82) scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. MIA's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kutaisi moved-up to third place, which they share with MIA Tbilisi. Kutaisi is looking forward to face GSAU (#10) in Tbilisi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MIA's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi GTU.
