They dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Shanxi Zhongyu's 52. Guandong Tigers forced 25 Shanxi Zhongyu turnovers and outrebounded them 54-32 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International center Wei Su (212-89) fired 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tennessee-Martin) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Alexander Johnson (208-83, college: Florida St.) produced 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard Jiang Pan (193-85) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Guandong Tigers. They maintain third place with 22-7 record having six points less than leader Xinjiang. Loser Shanxi Zhongyu keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost.
