1/8 Finals Round 1: Herten Lions - TSV Troester 91-56

The game was mostly controlled by Hertener Loewen. TSV Troester was better in fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hertener Loewen forced 23 TSV Troester turnovers and outrebounded them 38-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by TSV Troester's players. 29 personal fouls committed by TSV Troester helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Marcus Monk (198-86, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Vincent Kittmann (199-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Felix Hoffmann (195-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and guard Daniel Schmidt (186-90) added 17 points in the effort for TSV Troester. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
