The game in Saporro supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (16-19) played at the court of 8th ranked Hokkaido (9-26). Hitachi Sunrockers smashed Hokkaido 88-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hitachi Sunrockers. Hokkaido managed to win third quarter 25-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international center Joji Takeuchi (206-85) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Daisuke Kobayashi (189-87) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Five Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. American forward Jai Lewis (201-83, college: George Mason, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Takehiko Orimo (190-70) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains fifth place with 16-19 record. Loser Hokkaido stay dead last with 26 lost games. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hokkaido will play again against Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Osaka and hope to secure a win.
