Regular Season Round 19: Belfast Star - B.Gais Neptune 72-75

A very interesting game took place in Belfast. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placed Belfast Star (8-12) to third ranked Neptune (11-8) 75-72 in the fight for the third place. It was an exceptional evening for Grenadian forward Michael Bonaparte (196-82, college: Coll.of the Ozarks) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Michael McGinn (183-82) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Naturalized British guard Stephen Dawson (190-80) came up with 23 points, 7 assists and 5 steals and American forward Clayton Longmire (201-84, college: St.Rose (NY)) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Belfast Star in the defeat. Belfast Star's coach Danny Fulton rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Neptune. Neptune clinched the third position in South Conference and they would face DCU Saints in the Superleague playoffs.
