BJ League top team - Hamamatsu Phoenix (32-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Akita Happinets (11-26) 98-81. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Akita Happinets was better in fourth quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 27 personal fouls committed by Akita Happinets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Wayne Arnold (193-84, college: Tennessee St., agency: ACMT) orchestrated the victory by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. American guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. American swingman Will Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) replied with 30 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Akita Happinets. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamamatsu Phoenix have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 32-4 record. Akita Happinets at the other side keep the seventh place with 26 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will have a break next round. Akita Happinets will play again at home against the league's leader Hamamatsu Phoenix (#1) in Mikawa.
