Regular Season Round 38: Shiga L-Stars - Tokyo Apache 87-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Shiga between third ranked Tokyo Apache (18-13) and fourth ranked Shiga Lakestars (21-16) on Saturday night. Tokyo Apache was defeated by Shiga Lakestars in a tough game on the road 81-87. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tokyo Apache won third quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shiga Lakestars made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Shiga Lakestars outrebounded Tokyo Apache 48-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Lamar Rice (203-82, college: Georgetown, KY) scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami (FL)) chipped in 9 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Shiga Lakestars' coach Haruyuki Ishibashi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jeremy Tyler (209-91, college: High School) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Robert Swift (213-85, college: High School) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Shiga Lakestars and five Tokyo Apache players scored in double figures. Shiga Lakestars moved-up to third place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Tokyo Apache at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. Shiga Lakestars is again looking forward to face Tokyo Apache (#4) at home in the next round. Tokyo Apache will have a break next round.
