Regular Season Round 35: Panasonic T. - Mitsubishi DD 88-85

Seventh-ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (11-24) gave a tough game to second ranked Panasonic Trians (25-10) in Osaka. Panasonic Trians managed to secure only three-point victory 88-85. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Panasonic Trians made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. International guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American-Spanish forward Ontario Lett (198-79, college: Pittsburgh) came up with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Zyun Abe (177-86) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for Mitsubishi Dolphins in the defeat. Four Panasonic Trians and five Mitsubishi Dolphins players scored in double figures. Panasonic Trians have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Aishin lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side keep the seventh place with 24 games lost. Panasonic Trians will again play against Mitsubishi Dolphins (#7) in Nagoya in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mitsubishi Dolphins will have a break next round.
