Regular Season Round 35: Aishin SH - Toshiba BT 93-95 OT

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Aishin Sea Horses (25-10) in Kariya on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (17-18) in overtime 95-93. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aishin Sea Horses won third quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Aishin Sea Horses used huge pressure winning it 22-14 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 11-13. It was a great shooting night for Toshiba Thunders especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for guard Yuta Miyanga (183-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 assists. American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) helped adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. The former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (205-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and American swingman Ryan Forehan-Kelly (197-80, college: California) scored 21 points. Four Toshiba Thunders and five Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toshiba Thunders maintains fourth place with 17-18 record. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side still keep top position with ten games lost. They share it with Panasonic. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aishin Sea Horses will play again at home against Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and are hoping to win this game.
