Tenth-ranked Salon Vilpas (13-27) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (18-20) in Kauhajoki. Kauhajoen Karhu managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But Salon Vilpas won second period 28-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Kauhajoen Karhu won last quarter 21-21. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeremiah Wood (200-85, agency: Court Side) who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Steffan Johnson (185-87, college: Idaho) chipped in 19 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). They keep the tenth position with 27 games lost. Kauhajoen Karhu's next round opponent will be league's second-placed KTP-Basket in Kotka and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
