There was no surprise when 14th ranked Toulouse (1-19) was outleveled on the road by fifth ranked Challes-les-Eaux (13-7) 80-49 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Challes-les-Eaux. Toulouse was better in fourth quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Challes-les-Eaux dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Toulouse's 38. Challes-les-Eaux forced 26 Toulouse turnovers and outrebounded them 41-26 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Toulouse's players. American center Mistie Bass-Williams (191-83, college: Duke) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international guard Sabrina Palie (177-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 12 points, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Challes-les-Eaux players scored in double figures. Challes-les-Eaux's coach Aldo Corno felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Camille Aubert (170-89) replied with 12 points and guard Leslie Matanga (170-90) added 11 points in the effort for Toulouse. Challes-les-Eaux moved-up to fourth place. Toulouse lost fifteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Challes-les-Eaux will face Aix-en-Provence (#9) in Les Milles in the next round where they are favorite. Toulouse will play at home against Basket Landes (#6) in Mont de Marsan.
