An interesting game was played in Saporro where host Hokkaido (#8) won against 5th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers 76-66 on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 10 points. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jai Lewis (201-83, college: George Mason, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) who added 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Hokkaido players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Toshihiro Sato (176-80) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Daisuke Kobayashi (189-87) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Hokkaido maintains eighth position with 10-26 record. Loser Hitachi Sunrockers keep the fifth place with 20 games lost. Hokkaido will meet higher ranked Toshiba Thunders (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
