Regular Season Round 21: Snaefell - Hamar 76-64

Leader Snaefell delivered the seventeenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 11th ranked Hamar (6-14) 76-64 in Stykkisholmur. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 40-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Snaefell outrebounded Hamar 50-32 including 19 on the offensive glass. Forward Jon Olafur Jonsson (199-81) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Palmi Sigurgeirsson (190-78) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Snaefell players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Devin Sweetney (198-87, college: St.Francis, PA, agency: Strategic Sports) with 24 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Darri Hilmarsson (191-87) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-4 record. Hamar lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Snaefell will meet KR (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hamar will play against Stjarnan (#5) and hope to secure a win.
