Regular Season Round 22: Ammerud Bskt - Asker Aliens 79-87

BLNO top team - Asker (18-3) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat seventh ranked Ammerud (4-17) 87-79. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ammerud won third quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Ammerud 48-36 including 35 on the defensive glass. Asker looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Ammerud's players. The former international forward Ronny Karlsen (202-78, college: Independence CC) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Mustafa Mahnin (182-80) supported him with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Asker's coach Inge Kristiansen used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 33 points (!!!) and 6 steals by guard Samuel Diomande (191-88, agency: Promotex) did not help to save the game for Ammerud. Forward Roy Nwachukwu (192-90) added 18 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Asker have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-3 record. Loser Ammerud keeps the seventh place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Kristiansand. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
