Regular Season Round 22: Gimle BBK - Tromso 73-84

Date: March 6, 2011
The game in Bergen was also quite interesting. Second ranked Tromso (17-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Gimle (6-15). Tromso defeated Gimle 84-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tromso. Gimle was better in third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tromso forced 23 Gimle turnovers. Strangely Gimle outrebounded Tromso 52-36 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American swingman Ronald Timus (197-84, college: Morgan St.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Dag Christensen (201-80) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guard Bouna Ndiaye (195-92) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Stian Enge (190-90) added 14 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Gimle. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Gimle's coach DuRell Sanford rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tromso have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-4 record behind leader Asker. Loser Gimle keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
