The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Reykjavik: IR (#6) and KR (#2). IR (10-11) crushed visiting KR (15-6) by 28 points 124-96. The game without a history. IR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while KR only scored eleven points from the stripe. Strangely KR outrebounded IR 42-29 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by KR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard James Bartolotta (193-86, college: MIT) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Kelly Biedler (196-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Five IR players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: 011 Sports) who recorded 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international guard Brynjar Bjoernsson (191-88, college: Francis Marion) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. IR have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 10-11 record. KR at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Grindavik and Keflavik. IR are looking forward to face Fjolnir (#10) on the road in the next round. KR will play against the league's leader Snaefell (#1) in Stykkisholmur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
