SerieA top team - Montepaschi Siena (19-2) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Angelico Biella (8-13) 75-67. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Angelico Biella won third quarter 24-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lithuanian center Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-79) nailed 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and American power forward Shaun Stonerook (203-77, college: Ohio) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds. Montepaschi Siena's coach Simone Pianigiani used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican guard Edgar Sosa (188-88, college: Louisville) came up with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Croatian-Bosnian center Goran Suton (209-85, college: Michigan St.) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Angelico Biella in the defeat. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Angelico Biella lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Montepaschi Siena will meet at home Banca Tercas (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Angelico Biella will play against Air Avellino and hope to secure a win.
