There was no surprise when 10th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (4-16) was defeated at home by third ranked Bnei Hasharon (13-7) 89-79 on Sunday. Bnei Hasharon looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Lee Nailon (204-75, college: TCU) who scored 21 points. Guard Ronald Steele (188-86, college: Alabama, agency: SportsTalent) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Five Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Forward Rahshon Turner (201-75, college: Fairleigh Dickinson, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Bnei Hasharon have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Ironi Ashkelon lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Bnei Hasharon will face league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ironi Ashkelon will play on the road against Maccabi Rishon (#4) in Rishon Le-Zion.
