Regular Season Round 32: Bayi R. - Shanghai S. 102-80

Date: March 6, 2011
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-19) were outscored by eighth ranked Bayi Fubang (16-14) in Ningbo 102-80 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-80. Bayi Fubang had a 43-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by guard Shuo Han (196-86) who scored that evening 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and international forward Lei Wang (203-86) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Even 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard John Lucas (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) did not help to save the game for Shanghai Sharks. Forward Ziqui Liu (195-82) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Five Bayi Fubang and four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bayi Fubang moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Beijing and Zhejiang G.L. Shanghai Sharks lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Bayi Fubang will meet Shanxi Zhongyu (#10) in the next round. Shanghai Sharks will have a break next round.
