There was no surprise in Zadar where 6th ranked Kvarner 2010 (8-9) was defeated by third ranked Borik Puntamika (11-6) 97-82. The game was mostly controlled by Borik Puntamika. Kvarner 2010 was better in fourth quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Borik Puntamika forced 19 Kvarner 2010 turnovers. Kvarner 2010 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian forward Petar Maric (206-87, college: Lincoln Trail CC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Power forward Jure Skific (202-88) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Guard Hrvoje Puljko (193-83) answered with 29 points and center Zoran Pehar (209-81) added 13 points in the effort for Kvarner 2010. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Borik Puntamika have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Alkar Sinj. Newly promoted Kvarner 2010 keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Darda. Borik Puntamika will play against league's leader KK Split on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kvarner 2010 will play against Vrijednosnice OS (#7) in Darda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
