There was a minor upset when higher ranked Vanoli-Braga (9-12) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Cimberio Varese (9-12) 76-71 on Sunday. Vanoli-Braga was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-20 charge of Cimberio Varese, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Ronald Slay (203-81, college: Tennessee, agency: David Lee services) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Phil Goss (186-83, college: Drexel) contributed with 20 points for the winners.
