Top ranked Obras (16-7) recorded its seventh loss in Formosa on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked La Union (14-9) 83-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Obras. The game was mostly controlled by La Union. Obras managed to win fourth quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard David Jackson (196-82, college: Penn St.) who scored 27 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Panamanian-Spanish power forward Ruben Garces (206-73, college: Providence, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. La Union's coach Gabriel Picatto used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Luis Cequeira (180-85) produced 18 points and American forward William McFarlan (201-76, college: St.Thomas Aquinas, agency: Dream Team Management) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Obras players scored in double figures. La Union moved-up to third place, which they share with Penarol. Obras at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. La Union is looking forward to face Gimnasia CR (#5) in Comodoro R. in the next round. Obras will play on the road against Regatas Corrientes (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
