There was no surprise in Hangzhou where 15th ranked Qingdao Double Star (10-21) was defeated by fifth ranked Zhejiang Cyclones (18-13) 115-104 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 62-47 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Zhejiang Cyclones looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Marcus Williams (201-86, college: Arizona, agency: ZAG Advocates) who had a triple-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds and guard Dee Brown (185-84, college: Illinois) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Zhejiang Cyclones and four Qingdao Double Star players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zhejiang Cyclones maintains fifth place with 18-13 record. Qingdao Double Star lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. They share it with Foshan. Zhejiang Cyclones will meet Fujian SBS XunXin (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Qingdao Double Star will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in Hangzhou and hope to secure a win.
