There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Beer Yaakov (12-10) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Elitzur Ramla (11-11) 90-83 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. American forward David Paris (205-84, college: Bowie St.) scored 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Dror Davidi (190-84) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Elitzur Ramla players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jermaine Hall (196-80, college: Wagner) responded with 32 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ofir Farhi (187-86) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Elitzur Ramla have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Beer Yaakov at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Elitzur Ramla will face Hapoel Tivon (#7) in Kiryat Tivon in the next round. Beer Yaakov will play at home against Hod Hasharon.
