The game between fourth ranked Penarol (15-9) and 8th ranked Quimsa (11-12) in Mar del Plata ended with biggest points difference. Penarol beat guests from Santiado Estero 96-81. The game was mostly controlled by Penarol. Quimsa was better in second period 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Penarol players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international forward Leonardo Gutierrez (200-78) who scored 20 points. The former international power forward Martin Leiva (208-80) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Diego Lo Grippo (198-78) added 13 points respectively. Five Penarol and four Quimsa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with La Union and Lanus. Quimsa at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Penarol's next round opponent will be league's leader Obras in Buenos Aires and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quimsa will play on the road against Estudiantes (#8) in Bahia Blanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
