Thirteenth ranked Jilin Tigers won an overtime thriller edging higher ranked Beijing Ducks by one point 122-121. It looked good early as Beijing Ducks took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Jilin Tigers took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening in overtime by 1 point. Jilin Tigers made 31-of-41 charity shots (75.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Beijing Ducks turnovers. Beijing Ducks were plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Tim Pickett (193-81, college: Florida St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) accounted for 26 points and 8 rebounds. Jilin Tigers' coach Han Wang allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) came up with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Lei Chen (195-83) added 31 points and 5 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) respectively for Beijing Ducks in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jilin Tigers (12-19) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Shanghai. Beijing Ducks at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Bayi. Jilin Tigers will play against league's leader Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Beijing Ducks will have a break next round.
