The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Snaefell (17-5) in Reykjavik on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by KR (16-6) 116-93. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Snaefell's 32 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. KR forced 19 Snaefell turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The other American import center Finnur Magnusson (206, college: Catawba) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jon Olafur Jonsson (199-81) replied with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Italian forward Ryan Amoroso (203-85, college: San Diego St.) added 12 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Snaefell. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR moved-up to second place. Defending champion SnaefellĀ kept top position with five games lost.
