There was a surprise result in Badalona where twelfth ranked DKV Joventut (12-12) beat higher ranked Blancos de Rueda (14-10) 84-74 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 42-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. DKV Joventut looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Will McDonald (206-79, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and forward Pere Tomas (202-89) who added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four DKV Joventut players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Jason Robinson (196-80, college: Pikeville) with 18 points and Dominican forward Eulis Baez (201-82, college: W.Illinois) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. DKV Joventut moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Blancos de Rueda at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. DKV Joventut will face higher ranked Power Electronics Valencia (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
