Rather expected game when 12th ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-20) were defeated at home by tenth ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (15-17) 111-102 on Friday. Shanghai Sharks trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 27-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 102-111 at the end of the game. Shanxi Zhongyu made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Shanghai Sharks were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Leon Rodgers (199-80, college: N.Illinois) fired 31 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Alexander Johnson (208-83, college: Florida St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Four Shanxi Zhongyu players scored in double figures. American guard John Lucas (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) produced 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and forward Ziqui Liu (195-82) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Shanghai Sharks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shanxi Zhongyu moved-up to ninth place. Shanghai Sharks lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
