Another exciting game was played in Helsinki between eighth ranked Torpan Pojat and 4th placed UU-Korihait where host Torpan Pojat (19-22) won against UU-Korihait (27-14) 110-103. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of UU-Korihait. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But UU-Korihait won fourth quarter 31-28. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UU-Korihait was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Timo Heinonen (198-81) contributed with 26 points for the winners. American forward James Reaves (203-82, college: Niagara) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Lawrence Wright (195-84, college: Bradley) added 19 points in the effort for UU-Korihait. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Torpan Pojat maintains eighth place with 19-22 record. UU-Korihait at the other side keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. Torpan Pojat will play against bottom-ranked Porvoon Tarmo (#12) on the road in the next round. UU-Korihait will play against the league's leader Tampereen Pyrinto (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
