PLKK top team - Wisla Can-Pak (22-2) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Widzew (9-15) in Lodz 69-56. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. Wisla Can-Pak outrebounded Widzew 41-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was international swingman Katarzyna Krezel (184-85) who scored 19 points. Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Aleksandra Pawlak (189-84) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Eliza Golumbiewska (178-83) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Wisla Can-Pak have a solid four-game winning streak. They won the regular season with 22-2 record. Newly promoted Widzew finished just outside the playoff zone with 15 games lost.
