Regular Season Round 28: CB Canarias - Alcazar Adepal 79-58
Date: March 12, 2011
Very expected game when 16th ranked Fundacion Adepal (9-19) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked La Laguna (15-13) 79-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by La Laguna. Fundacion Adepal was better in third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Fundacion Adepal to just 6 points in second quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when La Laguna made 8 blocks. Fundacion Adepal was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian-Italian point guard Nicolas Richotti (181-86) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and the former international power forward Jesus Chagoyen (202-78) who added 9 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side German power forward Kiril Wachsmann (203-83, college: Iona, agency: Edge Sports) responded with 10 points and American swingman Danny Brown (193-85, college: St.Louis) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. La Laguna maintains sixth position with 15-13 record. Newly promoted Fundacion Adepal keeps the sixteenth place with 19 games lost. La Laguna will face Melilla Baloncesto (#9) on the road in the next round. Fundacion Adepal will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#11) in Lugo.
