Second Stage Round 4: Racing - Black Star 83-53

The most interesting game of the last round was a loss of Black Star (6-14) in Luxembourg on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Racing (3-17) 83-53. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-53. Racing dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Black Star's 28. They outrebounded Black Star 63-28 including a 43-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Siarre Evans (178-88, college: E.Tenn.St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!), 26 rebounds and 5 assists and center Diane Schaefers (185-83) who added 5 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Racing's coach Carmen Nastor felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Bulgarian forward Ana Petrova (170-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American swingman Stephisha Walton (180-87, college: Portland St.) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Racing maintains fourth position in Group B with 3-17 record. Black Star at the other side still keeps top place with 14 games lost.
