The game between closely ranked teams ended with 12th ranked Assigeco BPL's (8-15) road loss to eleventh ranked Fileni BPA (11-12) 72-86. It looked good early as Assigeco BPL took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fileni BPA had a 26-11 second period charge getting the lead and Assigeco BPL was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-86. Fileni BPA dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Assigeco BPL's 40. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Bruno Cerella (194-86, agency: Players Group) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 23 points in the effort for Assigeco BPL. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fileni BPA moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Aget Imola. Assigeco BPL lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Fileni BPA's next round opponent will be higher ranked Snaidero Udine (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
