Eighth-ranked Aget Imola (11-12) gave a tough game to first ranked Umana Venezia (17-6) on Sunday. The visitors from Venezia managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Aget Imola was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-19 charge of Umana Venezia, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Aget Imola turnovers. It was a great evening for American-Bulgarian guard Kiki Clark (173-84, college: St.Peter's) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. American forward Tamar Slay (204-80, college: Marshall) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Trent Whiting (185-76, college: BYU) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and naturalized Argentinian guard Patricio Prato (193-79, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 21 points. Umana Venezia maintains first place with 17-6 record. Aget Imola at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Fileni BPA. Umana Venezia are looking forward to face Tuscany Pistoia (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aget Imola will play against Mazzeo San Severo and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
