Very predictable result when second ranked Real Madrid (20-5) defeated at home 16th ranked Meridiano Alicante (7-18) 80-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Meridiano Alicante was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Meridiano Alicante 37-22 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized Montenegrin power forward Nikola Mirotic (208-91) stepped up and scored 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds.
